A comical song by Carson Robison depicts a dialog between a rough and tough sailor and his woman. This is my own strange arrangement consisting of a combination of two versions of the song by Robison, Barnacle Bill the Sailor and The Return of Barnacle Bill. I picked the verses I thought were the funniest from each. Musically, it is a combination of Robison’s version and the hot chorus from a Victor recording made by Hoagy Carmichael’s Orchestra. Ragtime and Jazz fans are familiar with the Hoagy Carmichael recording because it features a cornet solo by the legendary Bix Beiderbecke.
